Powr of You wins second place at MIT GSW 2014 in Morocco

In March 2014, Keshav Malani (MBA 2014), co-founder of Powr of You, won 2nd place at the MIT Global Start-up Workshop Pitch competition held in Marrakech, Morocco.

The annual MIT GSW is the world’s premier workshop dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship, innovation and building entrepreneurial ecosystems globally. Each year the workshop brings together over 300 entrepreneurial leaders, executives, students, next gen entrepreneurs, financiers, professors, government agents and private supporters. The Elevator Pitch Competition gives innovators from around the globe an opportunity to present their ideas in 60 seconds to the entire GSW audience for cash prizes.

Powr of You was one of 56 companies to pitch at this conference and won 2nd place amongst global peers from schools like MIT, LBS, Columbia, Kellogg and Cambridge. This award comes after receiving 3rd place prize in the Asia regional final of the prestigious TiE International Business Plan Competition – Asia Region Finals where the team has been fast tracked to pitching to the Indian Angel Network.

The startup has been co-founded by LBS Alumni, Keshav Malani (MBA 2014) and Shruti Malani Krishnan (MBA 2012). Powr of You is disrupting the market research industry by revamping how brands interface with consumers in today’s “constantly connected” world through data and analytics. The business model is to take user provided data to generate more accurate and complete market research insights for brands, while keeping our users anonymous. In return, users earn cash back in the form of profit sharing and also a chance to learn about themselves through their data. A win-win scenario.

The platform is currently in private beta and the team is working towards their open beta launch later this summer.
